Privacy policy

Last updated October 2026

This policy explains what Hostelbee Services Private Limited (“Hostelbee”, “we”) collects when you use hostelbee.com and the Hostelbee Android app, and how you can delete it.

What we collect

Account details: your name, email address and password (passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see them).
Profile and ID: mobile number, profile photo, ID type (Aadhaar or Voter ID), ID number and an optional ID photo. We collect these only when you add them, usually to reserve a ShortStay.
Bookings: the ShortStay you reserved, dates, number of nights, amounts and the payment ID from Razorpay.
Device data: saved places (wishlists) and recent searches are stored on your device, not on our servers. The app may store a push notification token.

How we use it

To let you log in and keep your profile.
To reserve a ShortStay: we share your name, mobile number and ID details with the owner of the place you reserved so they can check you in.
To help you when you contact support.

We do not sell your data and we do not show ads based on it.

Payments

The ₹49 reserve fee is processed by Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details go to Razorpay, not to us. We store only the payment ID.

Who processes data for us

Google Firebase (authentication, database and file storage) and Razorpay (payments). When you call or WhatsApp an owner, that conversation happens outside Hostelbee.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and booking history while your account exists. When you delete your account we delete your profile and ID details. We may keep booking and payment records where the law requires it.

Your choices

Edit your profile and ID any time in Profile → Personal info & ID.
Delete your account from the website or the app. See Delete your account.

Children

Hostelbee is meant for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, use Hostelbee with a parent or guardian.
